THE ANNUAL Darkness Into Light walk will return to Athy this May for its 11th year, once again bringing the community together in support of Pieta House and those affected by suicide.
The event is scheduled to take place at Athy College on the morning of 9 May, beginning at 4.15am.
Organisers have announced that this year’s ambassador will once again be Athy native and acclaimed musician Jack L, whose continued support has been warmly welcomed by the local community.
The event holds deep significance for many in Athy, particularly following a difficult year marked by the loss of several community members.
Athy Town Promoters said the walk provides an opportunity for people to come together, share stories, honour loved ones, and support one another during challenging times.
Athy Town Promoters said: “We are truly looking forward to welcoming everyone once again, as we come together to share stories, honour memories, and remember our dear loved ones.
“Your presence means more than words can express.”
Participants can register in advance, though those wishing to join on the morning are also welcome, with donation buckets available on the day
