The first Local Enterprise Office Kildare roadshow hosted by the recently-formed Kilcullen Business Group was deemed very successful by the representatives of some 25 local businesses who attended.
Held in Fallons of Kilcullen, the Roadshow provided details of the LEO Kildare Retail Enhancement Support grants, with an emphasis on those for shop front improvements, window displays and age-friendly modifications to retail premises.
There was also a discussion about the energy efficiency grant, which has been increased from €5,000 to €8,000, and the trading online vouchers available for those who operate online shops and online booking systems.
Nichola Kennedy of the Kilcullen Business Group, said afterwards that it was a great turnout for a small town "with great interest in coming together as a town of businesses, to keep business in town!".
She thanked those who had attended and those who had sent their apologies due to other commitments and holiday arrangements.
Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer said there was plenty of “food for thought” after the presentation.
"I have no doubt it is the start of a very productive relationship between Kilcullen business and the team in the Kildare Local Enterprise Office," she added. Cllr O’Dwyer expressed her thanks to the LEO Kildare representatives who were there on the night.
Another event is being scheduled for August, which will focus on specific ways for retail enterprises to make the most of seasonal business opportunities.
