THE KILDARE county winners of the ‘Someone Like Me’ primary school art competition were presented with their awards at the national ceremony.

The Kildare winners were Scoil Bhride in Kilcullen and Scoil Bhride in Lackagh and took home awards in the junior and senior categories.

The ‘Someone Like Me’ art competition is organised by the National Disability Authority, and brought in 2,783 entries from national schools across Ireland.

The competition’s mission is to create positive attitudes towards people with disabilities.

So far, 25,000 children have taken part in lessons designed to bring awareness to disabilities, both visible and non-visible.

The winners were presented with their awards at the national awards ceremony that was held at Dublin City Hall on Tuesday 28 January.
