Pettitt’s Supervalu in Athy was filled with Christmas cheer on Tuesday, November 26, for its annual senior citizens party. This festive tradition, celebrated for the past 30 years, saw a record turnout this year. The event was a heartwarming celebration of community spirit, with lots of fun for all involved.

Sláintecare Athy was present to promote their Healthy Communities initiative and to join in on the party. They also held a free sign-up competition, awarding food hampers to lucky winners, Carmel Whelan and Catherine Cahill.

Pettitt’s manager, Pat Maher said: “We have it every year on the last Tuesday of November from around six to eight o’clock.
"It’s the busiest one we have ever had. We cleared out one of the aisles and put in tables and chairs. There were cakes, sandwiches, tea and coffee and some music by Larry and Mary.”
