Naas Racecourse has unveiled a major series of announcements ahead of its flagship race meeting on Sunday, 4th January 2026, with Ballymore confirmed as the new title sponsor of the €100,000 Grade 1 Ballymore Novice Hurdle, alongside a spectacular €10,000 racegoer giveaway and the return of the much-loved Winter Best Dressed Competition, judged by fashion favourite Marietta Doran.
The new three-year Ballymore sponsorship marks a significant partnership for one of the most prestigious early-season National Hunt contests. As the first major race meeting of the new year, the Grade 1 Ballymore Novice Hurdle is widely recognised as a key stepping stone for future champions and sets the tone for the Irish racing calendar.
Adding further excitement to the day, Naas Racecourse will stage its biggest-ever race-day giveaway, with one lucky racegoer set to win €10,000. Every adult attending on the day will be entered into a special sweepstake, with names drawn and paired with horses in one of the races. The racegoer matched with the winning horse will walk away with the €10,000 prize.
Naas Racecourse General Manager Aidan McGarry commented, “with Ballymore on board as title sponsor, a €10,000 giveaway for one lucky racegoer, and a fantastic programme of racing, fashion and entertainment, this is shaping up to be one of the most exciting meetings we’ve ever staged at Naas.”
Fashion will once again play a starring role with the return of the Winter Best Dressed Competition, featuring luxury prizes worth thousands. This year’s winner will receive a €2,000 Frasers gift card for Frasers at The Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge, along with a two-night luxury stay for two at Kilkea Castle, including afternoon tea and fine dining at the renowned 1180 Restaurant. Runners-up will also receive Frasers vouchers and Kilkea Castle experiences.
Lead fashion judge Marietta Doran said, “the Winter Best Competition at Naas is always an incredible celebration of style. I’ll be looking for outfits that blend creativity with seasonal elegance, rich textures and confident personal flair. It’s also important to dress appropriately for the weather — a great coat or boots can really elevate a look. The competition is open to both ladies and gents, so we’d encourage everyone to get a group together and join us for a great day of racing, fashion and fun.”
Off the track, racegoers are encouraged to arrive early for a special edition of Paddy Power ‘From The Horse’s Mouth Live’, hosted by Tom Nugent with expert analysis from racing legends Ruby Walsh and Fran Berry. Family-friendly entertainment will include live music, a performance by the Newbridge Gospel Choir, children’s activities, and the popular Meet the Racehorse experience featuring former Grade 1 winner Briar Hill, supported by Treo Eile.
With seven races on the card, elegant winter fashion, outstanding hospitality and a vibrant festival atmosphere, the Grade 1 Ballymore Novice Hurdle & Winter Best Dressed Day promises an unforgettable start to 2026.
