A south Kildare GAA club is on the lookout for more land due to its expanding player basis.

Kildangan GAA are seeking assistance due to increase demands on its current resources.

The club said: ‘With an increasing number of children participating and with 20 teams booking times for playing matches at the club’s grounds, it is a huge challenge but also a great story.

‘We are so lucky for such a small area to have so many involved. Now, we badly need extra land as a training field. We are looking to rent or possibly purchase a few acres close to the grounds if possible but anywhere close to the village would be ideal.

‘Last year, we had to cancel training sessions, which we hate to have to do, but with only one pitch we have to give games a preference. It would make a huge difference to the kids if we could come up with a solution.’

Anyone with any ideas or can help is asked to contact club chairman Luke Sweeney on 087 2512200 or secretary Gabriel Murtagh 086 4138869 or any committee member.
