Big interest at auction for Kildare property

There was significant interest in a Kildare property and land at auction this week.
Bidding on the detached five-bed at Winward, Fontstown, Athy opened at €140,000 but quickly ratcheted up with seven individuals vying for it on Thursday.
A final bid of €209,000 from one eager individual concluded matters after an hour.
Bid X1 says the property would require refurbishment.
The property is 1,948 sq ft in size and is situated on a half-acre.
The pre-auction guide price had been €140,000.
