Dog of the week is the lovely Percy

WE are excited to announce that we will shortly be producing the KWWSPCA calendar for 2027 and are looking for suitable dogs to feature in the calendar.

There will be photoshoots in Kilcullen on the evenings of 13 and 20 August.

If you would like your dog to feature in the calendar, you can book a place on one of the photo shoots by emailing doggycalendar2026@gmail.com.

Both rescue and non-rescue dogs are welcome.

The calendar will also feature cats, but we will only be using photos of the rescue cats at our KWWSPCA shelter for these photos.

We would like to extend our thanks to Cottage Veterinary Clinic in Newbridge for being the main sponsor again on the calendar.

Our dog of the week is the lovely Percy, a white, 18-month-old greyhound with a wonderful personality. Despite having had most of his tail amputated owing to injury, he is a happy and exceptionally friendly boy who holds no grudge for altering his handsome look.

He is currently in a foster home where his affectionate companionship knows no bounds. The bonus with Percy is that he is fully toilet-trained and is very obedient. Percy is playful and loves his long walks, days at the beach and running behind a ball during his games of catch.

He unwinds by resting his head on your lap and listening to a lullaby as he drifts off to sleep.

Percy’s Foster carer feels deeply loved, valued and wanted every time she comes home to Percy’s enthusiastic greeting and feels certain that his beautiful, innocent eyes will warm any heart.

Percy is unsuited to living with cats and will need a good-sized garden to exercise in. If you are interested in welcoming Percy into your home, please visit our website and complete an expression of interest form.

The KWWSPCA is a registered charity, no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com. All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
