Kildare animal charity holding fundraiser events this week

FUNDRAISING is never-ending for charities all over the country and this weekend will be a particularly busy one for us as we hold two events.
On Saturday and Sunday we will be at the Town Hall on Newbridge’s Main Street with our ‘Fashion Pop-up Shop and Spring Fair’.
There will be something for everyone at this free event, with amazing bargains to be had.
Our regular pop-up shops selling labelled garments are always extremely popular. ‘First up, best dressed’, as they say. A huge variety of items from clothing, shoes and handbags to vintage & antique china, books, teddies and dog accessories will be available and priced to sell quickly.
There will be cakes, bakes & refreshments also with a lucky dip and a raffle. Our volunteers will be out in force and are looking forward to meeting you all. Why not call in if you are in the area or out on your daily dog walk, you just might leave with a bag of bargains!
All proceeds are in aid of KWWSPCA. Further details in the accompanying photo. This Sunday 27 April, between 2 and 4pm, in conjunction with the Punchestown Festival, we look forward weather-permitting to taking part in the Walking Sunday activities at the Racecourse.
It is traditional that the locals are invited to walk the perimeter of the track on the Sunday just before the annual racing festival starts.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. It is an enjoyable afternoon, especially if the sun shines, and is a great opportunity to meet fellow dog-lovers and socialise your own dog.
This is a free event but, as the designated charity for the day, we will gladly accept donations. The KWWSPCA will have an information stall, hold a raffle and give out spot prizes to deserving dogs.
Some of our current rescued dogs in need of homes will also be in attendance, hoping to be spotted for a permanent home. If refreshments are needed on completion of your walk, there will be a coffee stall and an ice cream stall selling their wares.
Please note that any attending dogs on the restricted dog breed list must be muzzled as this is a public event. We look forward to meeting old friends, both human and canine. KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com.
