Kildare pet blessing taking place this week

OUR pets are a blessing to us so why not join the KWWSPCA in actually blessing them?
Dogs, cats and other small pets are very welcome to a special blessing at Christ Church, Celbridge on Saturday next, 5 October at 2pm with donations on the day taken up in aid of KWWSPCA.
If for whatever reason you cannot bring your pet, you can bring a photo (unframed) which we will place on a display board and your pet will be included in the blessing prayers.
If you want deceased pets to be remembered, you may also bring a photo and they will be remembered in the service. In the interests of safety we would ask that all dogs be kept on a lead and smaller animals in appropriate pet carriers to prevent escape and/or distress to some pets who may be nervous in the company of a large number of other pets.
This is an annual very nice event which is enjoyed by all. We hope to see you and your furry friends there. And now a short story about a puppy called Tom who arrived recently at the KWWSPCA shelter with his four almost identical brothers: Don, Dylan, Jimi & Rory. The puppy brothers lived very happily at the shelter without a care in the world and spent their days playing, eating & sleeping. One day little Tom was found with an injured paw and none of his brothers owned up to being the cause. After a trip to the Vet, Tom was brought for recovery to the home of a very kind lady called Aine.
He never got to say goodbye to his four brothers, although he didn't seem too bothered by this at the time, and he never got to go to the Dog Show where he might have been picked for a home. Tom's brothers have all found forever homes now and Tom can't stay with Aine forever. He's only four months old, what's to become of him? Surely not back to the shelter on his own!
Aine says he's the cutest pup around, is doing great on the lead and his house training is going very well.
