THE Russborough Garden Festival takes place this year on Sunday 17 May and the KWWSPCA is very pleased to have been invited again.

Some of our volunteers will be on hand to chat about our important work and how you can get involved.

We will also run a dog show on the day between 2pm and 3.30pm so we hope to see lots of eager competitors, even if it’s only the owners who are eager!

Our featured dog this week is two-year-old Ethel, a beautiful black greyhound who enjoys a lazy life.

Content with the odd walk, Ethel otherwise is lazing on her sunbed if the weather allows, lying on the kitchen couch while she supervises tea-break or cuddled up inside her outdoor kennel on a colder day.

We are looking for a cat-free home and without young children as Ethel is just not into playtime and she likes her personal space.

A perfect companion pet, Ethel’s full details and photographs can be found on our website under the ‘Adopt a dog’ section.

We’ve had several enquiries lately about adopting kittens and the answer is not just yet.

We have several in foster homes and some pregnant cats in our care so it’s only a matter of time before we will be searching for homes.

It’s best to keep an eye on our dedicated cat section Facebook Page (KWWSPCA Kitty Cottage) or on our website listings.

Our recent Pop-Up Shop and Spring Fair held in Newbridge Town Hall was a great success with lots of happy shoppers and a substantial amount raised to help with our expenses.

Unavoidable veterinary bills are our biggest expenditure as every dog or cat taken into our care needs to see the Vet for vaccinations and microchipping.

A huge number then need neutering, some medical work or even major surgery. We never take for granted the huge support we get from the community as our work is entirely dependent on fundraising to keep us afloat.

The KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
