Our supporters often surprise us with lovely donations to help us run our animal shelter.

Staff at Springfield Hotel in Leixlip recently collected plastic drink bottles at the hotel and then used the local Deposit Return Scheme to raise a tidy €500 for us. Such thoughtfulness and effort is very appreciated by us as our charity is run voluntarily.

Fundraising is continuous for us to meet our overheads so a little outside help is always welcome. Thank you to Edel Balfe and the staff for thinking of the animals. One of our current dog residents is an 8-year-old lady called Autumn who came to us with medical issues which have now been dealt with.

She is not too active, preferring to laze on our kitchen couch rather than do much outdoor activity. As it is more difficult to find homes for older dogs and to date we have not had success in finding Autumn that forever home, we now spread the net a little wider by seeking a long-term foster home for her instead. In this case, the charity would cover her medical expenses for her lifetime and provide any necessary supplies while Autumn benefits from a comfortable home where she would be well looked after.

We already have several dogs in this scheme, which frees up shelter space for more dogs in need. Autumn is a lovely and good girl and would be a perfect companion perhaps for somebody living alone. Her details can be found on our website www.kwwspca.ie We wish to thank all our supporters who attended our recent fundraisers: Autumn Bazaar, Pop-Up Fashion Shop and Book Sale in Kilcullen along with the coffee morning at Hey Darling Cafe in Naas.

We were delighted with the amount of money collected at these events which keeps our finances sound for another while. KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
