A 27-YEAR-OLD Carlow man who targeted elderly residents in bogus repairman house calls has been remanded in custody for sentencing consideration after pleading guilty to two counts of deception.

A DOG owner told a court last week that he has paid a donation to a canine charity and was willing to pay compensation to injured parties after his two dogs attacked them.

A garda said he could smell alcohol from him, that he was in “floods of tears” and “visibly upset”.

A GRAIGUECULLEN man was last week served a book of evidence in Carlow District Court and will now face a charge in the circuit court of assaulting a garda sergeant, causing him harm.

The defendant told gardaí that he worked in Dublin Airport and that he was getting a taxi home when he fell asleep and ended up in Co Cork
