Aldi had denied that it had unfairly dismissed Mr Kashif and claimed it had followed a full and fair disciplinary procedure before his summary dismissal.

The news comes as the retailer was granted planning permission from Kildare County Council for its 1,315sqm store today. ALDI is aiming to open the store in 2026, making it the tenth ALDI store to open in Kildare since 2004.

From March 25th, all ALDI stores will open from 8am, Monday to Saturday, and close at 10pm.

The supermarket chain said a typical trolley of the most popular goods reduced from €121 to €106.
