40 vehicles seized by Kildare/Carlow gardaí in last week

Gardaí in Kildare/Carlow Garda Division seized 40 vehicles in the last seven days for offences including for no insurance, no tax, no NCT, unaccompanied learner drivers and driving while disqualified.
The message from gardaí on social media was, ‘we’re out in force. If you’re not road legal — we’ll find you and we’ll seize your vehicle … we can’t be everywhere — but we could be somewhere.’
Gardaí in the division also arrested 23 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
’Regrettably, this marks an increase compared to the previous week,’ said gardaí.
Disqualification from driving for a period ranging from one-six years can follow, fines of up to €5,000 and six months in prison.
