50-bed residential care facility gets green light in Kildare

PLANNING permission has been granted for a major residential care facility in Rathangan, Nua Healthcare Services Limited has applied for permission to develop the site off Kildare Road (R401) at Rathangan Demesne.

The proposed development would consist of a part one- and part two-storey Approved Centre Building providing 50 bed spaces, measuring approximately 6,392 square metres, along with a single-storey services building of 413 square metres.

Plans also include a new access road along the eastern boundary connecting to Kildare Road, a pedestrian and cyclist crossing, internal roads, footpaths and cycle lanes, and 104 car parking spaces.

Additional elements feature service yards, bicycle parking, bin storage, plant areas, an ESB substation, a wastewater pumping station, solar panels, green roofs, landscaping works, boundary treatments, public lighting and signage.
