A NAAS-BASED engineering firm is expected to double its workforce following an investment of €70m.

OFS is a global provider of specialist services to the energy industry, and over the past two decades it has worked for some of the best-known names in the oil and gas, power generation, renewable and industrial sectors.

Private equity firm Exponent has announced an investment in Kildare-based gas turbine specialist company OFS as it seeks to meet growing demand, particularly from data centre developments.

OFS is headquartered in Millennium Park and has specialist teams in more than 40 countries, with customers including Mitsubishi, Siemens and CE Power.

“I warmly welcome the announcement of a €70 million investment in Naas-based engineering and technology company OFS, with plans to potentially double its workforce from around 200 employees to 400,” said mayor of Naas cllr Bill Clear.

“OFS has grown into an international company, with offices in the United States and Singapore and customers across more than 40 countries, yet its roots and headquarters remain firmly in Naas. This is exactly the type of high-quality investment and employment we want to see coming into our town.

“Naas is a fantastic place to live, work and invest, with a highly skilled workforce, excellent transport connections and a strong and growing business community.

“Potentially doubling the workforce could mean significant new employment opportunities locally, while also supporting other businesses and services throughout the town.

“Congratulations to founders Eric Kavanagh and Joseph Dunne, the management team and everyone at OFS on this major milestone.

“As mayor of Naas, I am delighted to welcome this investment and wish the company every success with the next stage of its growth.

“This means more jobs, more investment and more opportunities for Naas and Kildare.”
