RESIDENTS of Coneyboro Estate in Athy are still awaiting repairs to a damaged entrance pillar, following an incident in which a vehicle supposedly crashed into the structure.

This issue was brough to the attention of Kildare County Council at the most recent Athy MD meeting.

Cllr Mark Leigh, who raised the issue, said: “Someone crashed into the pillar a number of months ago and we can’t find who did it.”

Cllr Leigh asked the council for a timeline on when the entrance pillar would be rebuilt, citing a “pile of rubble” that has been left at the estate’s entrance since the incident.

In response, the council confirmed that there is currently no timeframe or funding for the reconstruction. However, officials stated that the debris from the crash will be cleared from the area as soon as possible.
