WELL-KNOWN Irish personalities joined more than four thousand visitors for a spectacular day at Barretstown’s annual Big Picnic, which kindly sponsored by Brady Family Ham.
Among those enjoying the day were broadcaster Baz Ashmawy, TV stylist Rosalind Lipsett, and model Sarah Lipsett, who joined families for a fun-filled day of activities, entertainment and adventure.
Visitors were able to experience some of Barretstown’s much-loved camp activities, including canoeing, horseback riding, the climbing wall, mini golf and giant games, alongside face painting, arts and crafts, live entertainment and food stalls.
A highlight of the day was the return of Fossett’s Circus, with three spectacular performances featuring jugglers, aerial acrobats, magicians and stunt performers. Proceeds from the circus ticket sales will directly support Barretstown’s vital work.
The Big Picnic also gave visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand the unique environment Barretstown provides for children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses and their families.
Commenting, Barretstown CEO Dee Ahearn said: “The support we receive from days like this makes such a difference, helping us continue to open our gates to thousands of children living with cancer and other serious illnesses and their families throughout the year.”
