THE BIG day for Athy’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade is fast approaching, with the town bustling in preparation for one of its largest events, which draws huge crowds each year.

Athy Town Promoters announced who will be taking on the role of Grand Marshal in this year’s parade.

First will be Ardscoil Na Tríonóide’s Senior Team and second will be the beloved Betty O’Donnell, who celebrated her 100th birthday last August.

Residents should expect exciting floats with the theme for this year’s parade, which is ‘pulling together’, celebrating the lively community spirit of Athy.

Starting at 3pm on March 17, attendees will be in for a day of great fun and entertainment. Athy locals can look forward to a memorable community day for the whole family.
