Athy

Kildare County Council has issued a formalised timetable for casual trading in Athy, and it proposes to make bye-laws under the Casual Trading Act 1995, to designate casual trading areas at the locations outlined below.

Casual trading would be permitted on Emily Square every Tuesday between 7am and 2.30pm, and also for the whole day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.

Nearby Barrow Quay will be available to traders for the same time as Emily Square on Tuesdays, while a third location on Edmund Rice Square will be open for public trading on Saturdays from 9am until 3pm.

A copy of the draft Casual Trading Bye-Laws 2025 - Athy Municipal District may be viewed or inspected during the period from Monday, 28 July to Tuesday, 9 September (both dates inclusive) at the following locations during normal business hours — Corporate Services Department (Level 1), Kildare County Council, Aras Cill Dara, and in the local libraries in Athy, Ballitore and Castledermot.
