The John and Thady Gosden trained Field Of Gold was a dominant winner of the 2,000 Guineas at Curragh today, as he justified strong support in the betting market.

The evens favourite finished almost four lengths clear of second placed Cosmic Year.

Colin Keane was the jockey on board after he took the place of Kieran Shoemark who drew criticism for his ride in the English version of the race a month ago in Newmarket when Field Of Gold finished second.

Keane praised Shoemark for the advice he had given when speaking to RTÉ after the race.

"Kieran is an absolute gentleman.

"He put me straight and told me everything I need to know. I'm very thankful for that."

Field Of Gold was following in the footsteps of his sire Kingman who won the race in 2014.
