Gardaí in Kildare arrest 17 for driving under the influence

Gardaí in Kildare have arrested 17 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the past week.
The An Garda Siochana Kildare Facebook page reported this was an actual decrease on the figure a week previous.
They said: ‘But we can never get complacent in this regard. Intoxicated driving significantly increases the risk of Collisions, injuries, and fatalities.
‘Penalties for drink and drug driving include disqualification periods ranging from one to 6 years, fines up to €5,000, and up to six months imprisonment.’
