A KILDARE lotto winner thought there had been a mistake when they were notified of their €123,836 win.
The online syndicate enjoyed a memorable visit to Lottery HQ after winning €123,836 in the Saturday 29 August Lotto draw after matching five numbers and the bonus. The syndicate discovered their newfound fortune after receiving an email notification about the win.
One member of the syndicate said: "I got an email about the win and assumed it was something small. When I logged into my account, I got a real shock. I was double and triple-checking the amount because I genuinely thought there had to be some mistake.
“I took a screenshot straight away and dropped it into our syndicate group chat. Within minutes, the chat had completely exploded. There were messages flying in from every direction as the news began to sink in. Nobody could quite believe what they were seeing.
“Before long, we were all on a video call together trying to make sense of it.
"Some of us were laughing, some were speechless, and everyone was asking the same thing: 'Is this actually real?'.
"Even after we'd checked it again and again, it still hadn't fully sunk in. It was one of those moments that you'll never forget.”
