Kildare woman faces theft charges over using bank card she found

credit card fraud
A WOMAN who found a bank card and used it in a number of places around Athy racking up over €200 on it will be sentenced for this in March – after she finishes her present jail sentence.
Appearing in Athy District Court to face a total of 10 charges of theft and shoplifting was Chloe Martin (27), Minch’s Terrace, Athy.
Sergeant Dave Hanrahan told the court how Martin had “found a bank card and used it a number of places around town”.
However, he didn’t specify what date, or dates apart that it was earlier in the year.
He then explained that she was also charged with shoplifting in Aldi in Kildare town on 28 February, but didn’t specify the value of the stolen items.
Previous Convictions
He explained how she had five previous convictions, “all for theft”.
However, as there was no appearance by Chloe Martin in court on the day, the sergeant said he would be seeking a bench warrant from the court for her arrest.
“She’s in custody,” explained her defence solicitor Jackie McManus, although didn’t specify for what.
Judge Desmond Zaidan then remanded her until 25 March “for sentence”.
