Kildare's Layla was star of Late Late Toy Show
Layla Doyle from Rathangan did her family and county proud on this year's Late Late Toy Show
RATHANGAN native, Layla Doyle, wowed audiences at RTÉ and homes across the nation with her quick wit, football knowledge and athletic skill on this year’s 2025.
The 11-year old girl joined host Patrick Kielty, as she represented Liverpool against Kielty’s Manchester United, in a battle between the two rival teams.
First, the pair competed against each other in a game of football and a Premier League quiz, which saw Layla winning each round. But what seemed to win the hearts of families across Ireland was Laylas hilarious comebacks and quick wit, which had people posting online, writing that she should start a career in comedy.
The young Liverpool fan’s Christmas dreams came true, when Irish Liverpool player, Conor Bradley, spoke to her via video, inviting her and her family on a trip to see a game at Anfield, and most importantly, asked her to join him and the team as the Liverpool mascot!
Layla’s face showed pure shock on hearing her favourite players voice addressing her, leaving her speechless.
Conor Bradley said: “Me and all the team at AXA Insurance would love to invite you and your family on a VIP trip to see us play at Anfield.
“And I’d love for you to walk out with me and the team as our mascot at the match.”
Santa Claus has a tough act to follow this year after the Liverpool player’s announcement, which is sure to be the most memorable Christmas of the young fan’s life!
