Man charged with hit & run offence in Monasterevin

A MAN who is charged with an alleged hit and run incident appeared at Portlaoise District Court by video link from Cloverhill Prison last week.
Karl Fox from 52 Roscarroll Square, Newbridge, Kildare is charged with driving without insurance, driving without a driving license, hit and run and with failing to report an accident on 4 June last at Cowpasture, Monasterevin.
Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case to 4 September to allow time for Mr Fox to consider whether he was going to plead guilty or not to the offences.
Defending solicitor Josephine Fitzpatrick said that Mr Fox is currently on remand in custody and was seeking free legal aid, to which Judge Cody granted.
