Monasterevin 'Rat Run' to be reviewed

Speed and safety measures along the Barraderra and Cowpasture roads in Monasterevin are to be reviewed.
The announcement was made at the July meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District.
This follows a motion by cllr Kevin Duffy seeking an onsite meeting with the area engineer.
The councillor said the roads are used as a 'rat run' to the M7 by motorists.
Cllr Duffy said that a discussion on ways to slow drivers down was needed.
He suggested the possible use of ramps as an option for traffic calming.
Traffic has become increasingly busy in the area.
Officials have agreed to meet with the councillor.
