DEVELOPERS in Naas are stepping up to meet the growing demand for gyms in the area, with several new gym developments recently submitted to Kildare County Council for planning permission.

In the last month alone, Kildare County Council has received multiple applications for gym-related developments in the area. One notable proposal is for the construction of a two-storey multi-purpose building which includes a car mechanic workshop and café on the ground floor and a dance studio and gym on the first floor level, located at Oberstown Business Park.

Also received by the council was a proposed development at Unit E at Naas Retail Park in Jigginstown, Naas, for the redevelopment of a current retail unit into a gym – complete with a mezzanine floor and gym user facilities to create an open-plan gym space. The unit space is located between Currys and Right Price Tiles & Wood Flooring, which was originally a Carpet Right store.

If approved, these developments would be an asset to the area, addressing gym overcrowding problems in Naas.
