A MAN was arrested in Naas earlier this week after testing positive for both cannabis and cocaine at a mandatory intoxicant checkpoint.
Following the roadside drug test, which tested positive for cannabis and cocaine, Gardaí also discovered that the man had no valid insurance, prompting the immediate seizure of his vehicle.
He is due to appear in court in connection with the offences.
In a separate incident during the same operation, Gardaí seized a second car from an unaccompanied learner driver who was not displaying L-plates as required by law.
A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) was issued in that case.
