New bus shelters on way for Kildare stops

Good news for rain-soaked bus commuters in Kildare with the news that seven new bus shelters are to be erected at four locations across the county.
This came to light in a Kildare County Council statutory planning notice published in last week’s press.
Of these, there are proposals to put up shelters both northbound and southbound in Athgarvan, Maddenstown, and Calverstown, with the seventh proposed for the Dublin Road in Naas, but only on the southside carriageway.
Drawings of the proposed works are available for public inspection at the Council offices at Áras Cill Dara, Devoy Quarter, Naas and on the website consult.kildarecoco.ie until Friday, 16 May.
Submissions or observations from members of the public can be made on either the website or in hard copy to the SEO of the Transport Section at the Council offices.
All of this is in line with Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, which governs proposed traffic calming measures.
