New mayor appointed for Kildare/Newbridge 

THE KILDARE-NEWBRIDGE MD Committee appointed cllr Noel Heavey as Mayor and cllr Brian O’Loughlin as Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District Committee, at their annual meeting, which was held in Áras Chill Dara this morning.

New Cathaoirleach of the Kildare-Newbridge MD looked forward to the road ahead in his new position and said: “I’m conscious of the body of work in front of us.” 

He also acknowledged the fantastic work of his predecessor cllr Peggy O’Dwyer, and called her year in leadership “super impressive.” 

He said: “I wish to sincerely thank Peggy for the work she did – for her efficiency and fairness.” 

“I undertake to do my living best. I will be fair to the best of my abilities to everyone.”
