Popular Athy chemist announces closure

A BELOVED Athy pharmacy announced the notice of its closure via social media last night, which got a flood of messages from long-standing customers.
Mc Hugh’s pharmacy in Athy shared the sad news that it will be closing its store next month, with its last day in operation on Monday, June 30.
The pharmacy took to social media and wrote :”It has been a privilege to care for your health and well-being over the years.”
“We are truly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us and the relationships we’ve built within this community.”
The pharmacy also noted that its working hard to ensure a “smooth transition” for its customers by transferring prescriptions to patients desired pharmacies.
They concluded the notice with: “Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives. We wish you continued health and happiness.”
Floods of heartfelt comments came in wishing the staff at Mc Hugh’s the best of luck in their future endeavours and thanking them for their service.
One customer wrote: “Such a shame, I’ve been using this chemist for 19 years, it’ll be such a loss to the town. Best of luck to all the staff.”
