Progress underway on Rathangan town centre renewal

WORKS on the Rathangan Town Centre Renewal Plan are officially underway with several milestones already achieved, according to Kildare County Council.
The update came in response to a question raised by cllr Pat Balfe regarding the status of the long-anticipated plan.
According to the Senior Executive Officer for Strategic Projects and Public Realm, the Draft Rathangan Town Renewal Plan has now commenced. As part of the initial stages, a workshop has been successfully completed and a community engagement initiative, including an art competition in local schools, has been carried out.
The plan is currently on track for completion by the third quarter of 2025, although this timeline remains contingent on the availability of resources.
While no funding has yet been secured, it was noted that applications will begin once the plan is finalised.
It was also included that having a completed Town Renewal Plan in place is expected to significantly enhance the town's chances of securing funding, as it will improve its scores during the assessment of grant schemes.
