Proposed Naas restaurant pushes for 3am weekend closing

Proposed site for Passion for Food restaurant in Naas
A proposed new Turkish restaurant given the green light for South Main St, Naas is seeking permission to extend its weekend opening hours until 3am, as part of a fresh planning application recently submitted to the council.
The plans involve the transformation of the existing ground floor retail unit, most recently known as “Evita,” into a restaurant serving Turkish food, both for on-site dining and takeaway.
The layout includes a new kitchen, food preparation and wash areas, customer toilets, and a seating area designed to accommodate up to 25 people.
The business intends to operate under the new name ‘Passion for Food – Turkish Cuisine’, and has proposed changing its hours to facilitate hungry pub goers.
Planning permission for the overall development was granted by the council in 2023, but the new application seeks to extend Friday and Saturday trading hours to 3am, and Thursday hours until 1am—significantly later than typical closing times in the area.
If approved, the restaurant could become another late-night dining option in the town centre.
