A TARGETED speeding enforcement operation was carried out by the Naas Roads Policing Unit on the L3010 at Duneany, Kildare, near Kildangan, following concerns raised by local residents about excessive speeding in the area.
During the high-visibility checkpoint, officers detected seven motorists exceeding the 60 km/h speed limit, with recorded speeds ranging from 84 km/h to 99 km/h.
Each driver received a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN), which carries a €160 fine and three penalty points on their driving licence.
Gardaí are urging all motorists to slow down and drive responsibly, reminding the public that speed limits are in place to protect all road users.
“Please slow down and drive responsibly,” said a Garda spokesperson. “Speed limits are in place for everyone’s safety.”
