Storm Éowyn brings status red warning to Kildare
The weather warning will run from morning until midday on Friday
MET EIREANN has just announced that there will be a status red wind warning in Kildare this Friday due to Storm Éowyn, and has warned that it will be a "danger to life."
The warning will run from 6am to 12pm on 24 January.
The storm is predicted to bring severe, damaging and extremely destructive gusts in excess of 130km/h to Kildare.
From the hours mentioned it will be unsafe to travel, with disruptions to transport and events, and possible falling trees and structural damage as a result of the winds..
Power outages are expected, as well as impacts to communication networks.
People are advised to stay home between these hours on Friday.
