Temperatures to remain mild for rest of week with highs of 14 or 15 degrees possible by weekend

Met Éireann has indicated that temperatures are likely to remain rather mild for the rest of the week, with highs possibly touching 14 or 15 degrees by the weekend.
However, the forecast for the weekend is for “unsettled” weather with rain or showers at times and some blustery winds possible in the south. Some of the showers are likely to be heavy and possibly thundery too.
Meanwhile, it is set to be a mixed bag weather wise for the coming days. Hazy sunny spells and mostly moderate southwest breezes are anticipated on Tuesday afternoon.
Later this evening, some rain and drizzle will arrive into the far west and northwest with highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.
Patchy rain and drizzle and fresh southwest winds will affect west and northwest counties tonight with lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in these areas. It is forecast to be dry but a touch colder elsewhere under broken cloud with the lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees.
Wednesday will be breezier with mostly fresh southwest winds. It is anticipated that it will remain cloudier across west and northwest areas, with patchy rain and drizzle, turning persistent later.
Elsewhere, it will remain dry with sunny spells and highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
Wednesday evening is likely to be a little breezy with freshening southwest winds. It will also be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle along the western and northern counties.
Conditions will be more dry elsewhere with some clear breaks developing in the south and east with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
Thursday will involve a mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells. A few showers will develop through the afternoon and continue into the evening with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
Thursday night will be mild but become rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in a light southerly breeze. The rain will be most persistent across western counties, with lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
Friday will be mostly unsettled with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds will remain a light to moderate southerly although will freshen at times along southern coasts. It will be another mild day with highs of 10 to 14 degrees.
