Two apartment blocks proposed for Kildare Town

The plans have been submitted to build the blocks at the back of Violets Floral Designs
A plan to build 15 apartments in the centre of Kildare Town has been lodged with Kildare County Council.
John McCormack and Seamus Slattery are seeking planning permission for two apartment blocks on the Dublin Road, Kildare Town.
The application would see the partial demolition of a rear ‘element’ of the existing commercial development (Violets Flowers).
The project would then see the construction of two blocks of apartments. One block would be a three-storey building consisting of 10 apartments (eight one-bed, two three-bed). The second block would be a two-storey building which would be attached to the existing building and would include five apartments (four two-bed, one one-bed).
11 car park spaces are proposed along with 22 covered bicycle spaces.
The applicant’s planning consultant say that the existing building and streetscape on Dublin Road will be retained.
There had been a previous application that was unsuccessful for the site but the applicants say they have reduced the number of housing units from 20 to 15.
