A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning has been issued for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
In Northern Ireland, the UK Met Office has also put yellow warnings in place for snow and ice with a minimum temperature of -3C on Saturday night.
A number of Northern Ireland Football League matches have been cancelled because of weather conditions including Ballymena United v Glenavon and Portadown v Cliftonville.
