A GROUP of talented young musicians from Athy College has just launched a new album celebrating the town’s rich musical history, unveiling the project last Sunday night at a packed event in the Clanard Court Hotel.

The collection pays tribute to musicians with ties to Athy, including The Smiths, The Buzzcocks, The Stone Roses, The Divine Comedy, Jack L, and Picture This. Tracks include ‘Jeane’ by The Smiths, ‘King of Soho’ by Jack L, and ‘Safe Ground’ by Toby Lee, and many more.

The MOA band is made up of eight young musicians: lead vocalists Makayla Farrell, Faith Price, Zoe Doyle, and Darragh Ennis, along with Colm Rothwell on drums, Senan Gilbert on guitar, Arthur Hevia on guitar, and Charlie Price on bass. All members of MOA signed autographs for attendees on the special night.

A highlight for attendees was the lively duet of The King of Soho between Jack L and MOA singer Darragh Ennis.
