Barrowhouse Running Club was formed in February 2025 and, as the club’s own members will tell you, none of them planned for it to grow the way it has. What began as a Couch to 5K group, set up as a fundraiser for the local primary school, Shanganamore NS, has since grown into a community of almost 40 members The club is, in its own words, “just as much a social group as a running one.”

Barrowhouse GAA Club is where the group formed, and the Harvest Run is their way of giving something back to the GAA and the wider Barrowhouse community.

The organisers are keen to emphasise that the Harvest Run is not just a race for experienced runners. “If you’ve ever thought running isn’t for you, you’d fit right in with us,” the club’s event organiser, Nicola Brennan said.

Prizes will be awarded to first male, female, and juvenile finishers, with spot prizes on the night.

Online registration at bit.ly/BarrowhouseHarvestRun or in-person on the night.
