Kildare is to host its first ever Inclusivity Festival at the Curragh Racecourse on 11 May, which will see areas for family fun, a zone to experience inclusive and adaptive sports, an ‘ultimate’ obstacle course, a Barretstown Magic Zone – and all for free!
There will also be live entertainment, an artisan food and craft market, and stands to exhibit the service providers available on the day, which runs from 11am to 4pm.
“At Kildare County Council, we are continuously working to break down barriers and contribute to positive change for people living with disability in County Kildare,” said a council spokesperson.
“This will be hosted in collaboration with the County Kildare Access Network (CKAN), Nua Healthcare Services, Kildare Sports Partnership, Barretstown and the racecourse.
"We are proud to announce the first Kildare Inclusivity Festival - a landmark event celebrating disability, inclusion, and the boundless potential of people of all abilities.
"This free community event aims to foster a culture of inclusion by celebrating the limitless potential of individuals of all abilities through engaging activities, live performances, and meaningful community interactions”.
“We are thrilled to introduce this festival as a platform to showcase ability, break down barriers, and bring people together in a truly inclusive environment,” said Michael Hurley, access officer, Kildare County Council.
“We invite everyone to join us for a day of fun, engagement, and celebration.
Kildare County Council remains dedicated to creating opportunities that promote inclusivity and accessibility for all, and this festival represents a significant step toward fostering unity, respect, and celebration within the community."
