IN RESPONSE to growing global tension and widespread suffering, Clane’s Suaimhneas Centre will host a 24-hour peace vigil from 12pm on Friday, July 19 until 12pm on Saturday, July 20.
It writes: “In a world that feels increasingly heavy with suffering, it can be hard to know how to respond. When words fail and answers feel far away — stillness can speak.”
The vigil invites individuals to step away from the noise of daily life and gather in stillness.
Organisers describe it as a “simple act of peace,” offering a quiet space for reflection, compassion, and shared hope in a world too often marked by violence, displacement, and grief.
“There is no agenda. No speeches. No expectations,” said Suaimhneas Centre. “Just an invitation to pause. To be present. To hope for peace.”
The vigil aims to honour all those affected by conflict and to provide a moment of collective healing in the heart of the community.
“All are welcome — join for a minute or more,” concluded the centre.
