Athy Bridge Club host prize givingwith Miriam receiving special award
Miriam Carbery is presented with a special recognition award by club president Brendan Donohoe at Athy Golf club bridge club
THE ANNUAL Christmas bridge competition was held in the golf club on 11 December, with the prizegiving held at the Christmas dinner on 18 December. Organisers thank all who took part and thanks to Athy Golf Club for an enjoyable night.
Club president Brendan Donohoe presented the prizes: 1 nett Gobnait Walsh and Frank Whelan, 2 Connie Doyle and Brendan Donohoe, 3 Mary Lawler and Mary McManus, 4 Ann Fenlon and Elizabeth Kirwan, 5 Bridie Conlon and Phil McNamara; 1 gross Miriam Carbery and Brendan Dunne, 2 (tie) Joan Melling and Michael Hannon and Seamus Carbery and Brian Tobin, 4 Theresa Coffey and Ted Rooney.
Additionally, tournament director, bridge teacher and mainstay of the club Miriam Carbery received a special award for her dedication to Athy Golf club bridge club from Brendan Donohoe â a well-deserved award, congratulations Miriam.
