Athy Photographic Society host annual awards
James Mahon presents Willie Quinlan with the Novice Photographer of the year
ATHY Photographic Society recently held their 2024 prize giving evening in Paddy Dunne’s.
As well as prize giving, the event was also a celebration of the ongoing development of the society.
At the start of the year, the theme for the year would be growth and the society encouraged all our members to grow as photographers and challenged them to take their best image ever.
Members embraced the challenge and the improvement in images both for our exhibition and club competitions was commented on both by judges for competitions and visitors to the exhibition.
Two members, Elena Doyle and Catherine Casey, received distinctions from the Irish Photographic Federation in recognition of the high standard of their work.
Overall, 2024 has been a successful year for the society and we look forward to growing again in the coming year.
