Athy Photographic Society snappers showcase work

THE Athy Photographic Society recently held their annual exhibition at Athy Community College.
The exhibition was opened by visual artist and academic Anthony Haughey on Saturday 2nd November and received glowing reviews from locals over the course of the two-day long exhibition.

The exhibition had over 160 photographs on display, as well as a digital display of images by the 26 photographers who participated in the event.

The photography on display varied in style, from portraits and drawn photography to nature and wildlife shots.
The Athy Photographic Society is an award-winning group of local photography enthusiasts. The club hosts over 50 members at different levels of their photography journey, including professional photographers, hobbyists and beginners.

The club is a recognised member of the Irish Photographic Federation, with three members of the group holding IPF distinctions. They also work closely with other local photography groups in Kildare, Laois and Offaly and have formed the Midlands Photography Group.
