Athy scouts donate to Crumin Children's Hospital

The Athy scouts embraced the Christmas spirit
Last Tuesday, 17 December at the cubs awards night in Athy, by presenting Declan Byrne with 150 selection boxes they had collected across all the sections for Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital.
The scouts have been fundraising for Crumlin Hospital for the last 35-40 years in street collections and fasts. Over the course of their collections they have raised a total sum of €50,000.

Declan Byrne, known for fundraising for Crumlin Children’s Hospital, presented scout members with a cheque, highlighting the amount of €2348.32 that they had raised for the hospital in the last year. He also presented members with a bike, which they will use to raise funds for the organisation through a raffle in 2025.
On the night, 16 new cubs were invested into the group and received their badges, 7 cubs received cub chief scout awards, and cub leaders were presented with service awards from 5-40 years in service.
