A VERY successful golf classic fundraiser saw 21 teams tee off at Rathsallagh Golf & Country Club, helping to ensure the continuing work of Kilcullen Community Action (KCA). The top five teams were led by Frank Berry, Martin Sheridan, Steve Kinneavy, Richie Galway, and Kevin Brady.

Other prizes winners were Bridget Ryan for Ladies Nearest to Pin, Aidan Casey for Men's Longest Drive, and Tom Keane for Men's Nearest to Pin.

Key sponsors were Newbridge Silver, Burke's Pharmacy Group, Centra, and Britvic, along with widespread support for tee boxes by local businesses and friends of KCA.

The organisation’s Antoinette Buckley thanked all who had been involved in the event, saying that KCA-sponsored initiatives couldn’t continue without the amazing support from businesses, the community, and Kildare County Council through grants. Specifically, she mentioned the winning of a Silver Medal in the 2024 Supervalu Tidy Towns.

"It is a wonderful achievement, and who knows, with such amazing support in our community, the gold medal is very much in sight!"

Prizes were later presented in Kilcullen’s Spout Bar. Antoinette repeated a standing invitation to all members of the Kilcullen community to come out and help with the wide range of initiatives by the voluntary group.

“Even an hour a week is very much appreciated,” she said.
