THE Spirit of Brigid festival this year was a hit, hosting many brilliant events in Kildare and inviting those outside the county to join in on the fun too.

One of the many events this February was St Brigid’s camino walk, which took place on Monday 3 February. Hundreds of people from Monasterevin parish and other parishes attended and were issued special St Brigid Camino passports before their walk.

It started at Umeras and the walk proceeded along the Canal Blueway for 6kms. Thankfully, St Brigid kept the rain away, so walkers could enjoy the experience.
